Laura’s Art Shoppe Limerick Contest Rules
This is the fourth annual Limerick Contest that Laura’s Art Shoppe has hosted. With a little imagination and lots of inspiration you too can be a competitor in this fun event!
Here’s all you have to do:
Write a Limerick. What is a limerick, you ask? Well, it’s basically a poem that has a very specific rhyme pattern, like this:
There is a fine town we call Cobalt
That gained glory from mining a rock fault.
The shine of pure silver
Caused most men to quiver,
And stunned most of the world to a dead halt!
Theme: For the 2017 Contest, your limerick should be a meditation on the theme: “Animals, Famous or Otherwise.”
Entry Fee: On the honour system, make a donation to the food bank in your area. Or you can bring your food bank donation to Laura’s Art Shoppe when you drop off your entry.
Deadline: Friday March 31, 2017
There will be First, Second and Third prizes awarded during the Spring Pulse Poetry Festival. Winners will be notified for the presentation of prizes.
Entries can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, or they can be mailed to:
Laura’s Art Shoppe
P.O. Box 559
Cobalt, ON P0J 1C0
…or they can be dropped off at the store at 38 Silver Street in downtown Cobalt.
So, get your limerick minds working. Good Luck to everyone!
